Guy Bardone (1927 - 2015)
AwardwinningandmultitalentedartistfromtheParisSchool,Bardoneexhibited internationally from 1953. Bardone trained at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon and the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratif where he was taught by Brianchon, Cavaillès and Desnoyers. Bardone also received support and advice from George Besson, the celebrated art critic. Bardone was awarded the Prix Félix Fénéon (1952) and was selected to exhibit at The Musée Galliera (Paris) and the Galerie Charpentier. Bardone was awarded the Greenshields Foundation prize in 1957 by the jury of Vlaminck, Dunoyer de Segonzac and Villon. Two major retrospectives of his work were held at the Chateau de Chenonceau in 1986 and 2003. Bardone also produced Lithographs, tapestries and illustrated several books including the work of Colette, Kessel, Montherlant and Marcel Aymé.
René Genis (1922 - 2004)
Genis studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Bordeaux and the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratif where he studied under Jules Cavaillès, Francois Desnoyer and Maurice Brianchon. While there, Genismixedwith other artists such as André Brasilier, Bernard Cathelin and Guy Bardone. Genis regularly exhibited at the Salon Comparaisons in the Maurice Boitel group. As a member of the Salon d’Automne, Genis exhibited in New York, Japan, Switzerland and Taipei. Genis was a specialist in still life and an assured colorist who also produced tapestries, mosaics and ceramics. His work is held in several national museums, ensuing his legacy as an international artist of note.
Alexandar Tatarenko (1925 1999)
Born in Saint Petersburg, Tatarenko worked as a painter, restorer and art teacher under during the Soviet era. He was a member of the Leningrad branch of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation and is regarded as representative of the Leningrad School of painting. Tatarenko painted portraits, landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes and exhibited in Leningrad and Odessa. Tatarenko’s work is held in Museums in Saint Petersburg, Petrozavodsk, Nikolaev, Ochakov, Lvov and in private collections in France, Ukraine, Finland, Germany, USA, England and Japan.
