The portrait of woman through the eyes of an artist.
Cathy Butuza
Like for a painting
I draw her portrait
A young girl was born with her eyes coloured water green
As soon as coloured pencils discovered
Always holding to them
Her mind overflowing with creativity
With some wilderness
Working the brush with precision
Her eyebrows strict
Chalk sharpened
Always knew how to go to the end of her thoughts
Even if depicted as stubbornness
With her strong personality and uniqueness
She fabricates magic
Giving life to the characters she creates
From her hands spring multitudes of coloured and dark nuances
Her children, always playing between cans of paints, brushes, chalks, easels and ideas in fusion
An admiration with no doubts from their parts
Invented Travels, animated decors
She was interrupting her work at moments to look at their reflections
Despite an approval from the eyes and a little smile
Never satisfied of her work
Back and forth
Layer over Layer
This is about an Artist life
Here we are, the painting is finished
Always the same question
Where to hang it ?...
