Presenting the United Nations art collection in Geneva, D10 Art Space and the Lian Foundation are delighted to announce a unique exhibition of artworks belonging to the United Nations, adorning the Palais des Nations, home of the League of Nations since 1936 and the United Nationssince 1945.For the first time in its long history, a handpicked selection of the over 2000 artworks of the UN Geneva collection will be on public display in the renown art gallery D10 Art Space Geneva.
Entitled “Tout un monde”, the exhibition highlights the role of art in the practice of multilateral diplomacy and the historical value of the
United Nations collection, builtover a period of 100 years, since the birth of the League of Nations in 1919. “Tout un monde” presents a selection of artworks acquired during the long history of the Palais des Nations both by the League of Nations and the United Nations. It includes donations of governments and individual artists.
With its national accents and large variety of techniques and themes, the exhibition shows the important place of art in the life of the Palais des Nations, a unique building designed for the purpose of hosting multilateral policy making.
“Tout un monde” is a unique, eclectic journey into the world of international relations since the early twentieth century and is part of the initiatives to mark 100 years of multilateralism in Geneva (https://multilateralism100.unog.ch/front) .
